de : en détails, revue de "Canada Postes" de juillet à septembre 2003. Les communications militaires canadiennes, 1903-2003. Enveloppe commémorative. Créé le 24 octobre 1903, le Canadian Signalling Corps (Militia) fut l'une des premières unités militaires au sein du Commonwealth britannique à se voir confier la responsabilité exclusivedes transmissions. Que ce soit au cours des deux grands conflits mondiaux, de la guerre de Corée, des missions des Nations Unies et d'autres missions internationales, d'opérations d'aide humanitaire ou d'interventions en cas de catastrophe, les communicateurs ont assuré, avec l'appui des partenaires civils, un soutien essentiel en matière de communication et d'électronique. Ces hommes et ces femmes ont servi leur pays avec distinction, dévouement et fierté, souvent au péril de leur vie. Leur histoire, riche et illustre, est évoquée par la devise de la Branche des communications et de l'électronique des forces canadiennes : Velox Versutus Vigilans (Rapide, Précis et vigilant). The Canadian Signalling Corps (Militia) was formed on 24 october 1903 and was one of the first military organizations of the British Commonwealth to be fully dedicated to military communications. Communicators, assisted by their civilian partners, have provided vital communications and electronics support during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, United Nations and other multinational operations, and humanitarian and disaster relief - performing whit great distinction, devotion and pride, often at great personal risk. The rich and illustrious history of the men and women of the military communications community is reflected in the motto of the Communications and Electronics Branch of the Canadian Forces : Velox Versutus Vigilans (Swift, Accurate, and Watchful). |
